Lucky golfer nails ace at same hole two Decembers running

There is just something about the month of December for Tim Finneran.
Just a few weeks ago, on Dec. 9, he aced the third hole at Beacon Woods Golf Club in Bayonet Point. The fun part for Finneran is that he aced that same hole in December 2006.
League play: Ed Foote, Chris Reid, Ken Yeaton and Betty Allen combined to shoot a new low score of 49 in last week's Belles & Beaus League play at the Quarry Golf Course in Brooksville. That score put the team at 9-under-par on the course, which is Par 58 for 18 holes.

The league is held every Wednesday from 8:45 a.m. to noon at Quarry Golf Course in Brooksville. The cost is $10 for members and $20 for nonmembers, which includes lunch, prizes, 18 holes of golf with a cart in the scramble format-blind draw league. Call 352 544-5485 for information.
Hidden Creek: Bill Woods, Greg Shorey, Geri Gearhart and Marilyn Mitchell shot even par to win the members Christmas tournament recently.
Tony Sisley Roy Fox, Stan Noe and Phyllis Schlager shot 6 over par to win second place. Derek Spencer, Paul Meager, Donna Grubach and Juanita Green shot 8 over par to take third place.
Coming up: For Hidden Creek members, there will be a tournament on Jan. 26. The format will be a four-person scramble with a shotgun start. Lunch will be served at noon and registration is limited to 52 players or 13 teams. Sign up at Hidden Creek Golf Club in Zephyrhills.
Silverado: There will be a Red Eye Scramble at 8 a.m. Jan. 1 at Silverado Golf and Country Club. The event will be a two-person scramble net and gross. The cost is $30 per player. Ten dollars of the money paid in will be paid back out.
