Patron dies in private room of strip club
Toxicology tests should reveal the cause of his death.

PORT RICHEY - Until the tragic finish, Jason Transue was having quite a night at the strip club.
The 28-year-old went to the Brass Flamingo, an all-nude gentleman's club on U.S. 19, about 8 p.m. Friday, authorities said.
He sat near the center stage to take in the entertainment. Dancer Vicky Gloria noticed he was spending money freely, so she invited him to the "Champagne Room" for a private dance.
He accepted.
Transue paid for one 30-minute dance, then wanted another, and another.
The private session lasted more than two hours. All the while, Transue was "drinking heavily," Gloria told investigators. About 1 a.m., she asked some male employees to move Transue to another room so he could sleep.
Club employees checked on him periodically, according to an investigator's report. At 2 a.m., someone noticed he had no pulse and was not breathing. A manager called 911.
But Transue was already dead.
He was a health care technician with no criminal record. He lived in Hudson, where a roommate told investigators Transue's only family lived in New York.
Pasco sheriff's spokesman Doug Tobin said there were no signs of foul play. Toxicology tests will be performed to determine Transue's cause of death. Results could take up to six weeks. Gloria told investigators she did not see him take any drugs.
"It's not very often," Tobin said, "that we have somebody go in the Brass Flamingo and wind up deceased."

Something smells bad here... If I were the cops, I'd definitely want to test to see if he was drugged... It happens in some strip clubs, where they'll drug you and then rack up thousands on your credit cards while you're passed out, "sleeping".

It's not often we have somebody go in the Brass Flamingo and wind up deceased? Uh...okay. Kinda weird for the sheriff's spokesman to be saying that.

Why does the Times continue to support the self-styled titling of these establishments as "gentlemen's" clubs. Yeah right. This is the vernacular the paper has sadly fallen into.

I can't think of a better way to go. Or as Woody Allen said in "Love and Death," "Died smiling, I'll bet!"

This is a pretty sick story even for FLA. The family is devastated over this. It's pretty sad that this had to become a major story. It reflects on just how bad FLA is. Where's your decency?

Hey folks, a young man died here. There may have been alcohol involed but get real, a man died... I don't think it was planned. None of the remarks made are kind, and those who made them should be ashamed. Hope none of you meet the same fate.

Fow women, it'd be the equivalent of shopping ourselves to death! Hey, that's an idea for about 40 years from now.

John, get a life.. a guy died doing what he wanted to do. That's part of freedom. Marriages fail for multiple reasons, the least of which would be a strip club..

what do you suggest john? county be able to shut down any business it doesn't like? police work has inherent dangers and the highest divorce rate, perhaps the county should disband the sheriff's office too?

John - these clubs will go away when they have no more willing customers. Until then, the problem lies elsewhere. "Pasco" can't simply dispel what you consider social problems. These clubs, and many other types of activity, are merely the symptoms.

John - Let's see... People get shot at the mall, babies die in cars because the parents supposedly forgot. Marriages fail because of alcohol and gambling. So what's your point?

A girl is shot dead outside of one strip bar, this guy dies, a dancers baby dies while she dances at Lollypops, marriages fail because of the stuff that goes on. Whats it going to take Pasco to wake up and say no more? Your son or daughter?
