Swing Centro: Every Thursday, the grand ballroom of Centro Asturiano brings swing dancing alive in vintage surroundings with lessons and a dance for daddios to shake that crazy groove thing. First, there's lessons from 7 to 8 p.m. and no partner is needed. Then it turns into a dance from 8 p.m. to midnight. Many people come decked out in vintage threads from the '20s to the '50s. Admission is $7 at Centro Asturiano, 1913 N Nebraska Ave., Tampa.

Just Listen: The Alley Cat Players will read excerpts from Sarah Dressen's novel Just Listen, which created controversy after it was challenged in Hillsborough County schools for its depiction of rape, underage drinking and eating disorders. Professional actors will read excerpts and afterward attendees will draw postcards inspired by the book. It's at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Brandon Regional Library, 619 Vonderburg Drive, Brandon. Free. Outback Bowl Beach Day: Join the Tennessee and Wisconsin teams, their marching bands and cheerleaders at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort on Sunday. There will be live music, skydivers, a tug-of-war and other contests from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 400 Mandalay Ave., Clearwater.
