TAMPA GARDEN CLUB PLANS FLORID PARTY ON JAN. 11 Tampa Garden Club will celebrate its 80th birthday Jan. 11 with a soiree featuring California author and floral designer Ron Morgan.The hors d'oeuvres reception starts at 6:30 p.m. at the club, 2629 Bayshore Blvd. Morgan, who has designed window displays for Harrods and David Jones, will create 12 floral designs to be auctioned at the event. Dessert will be served after the auction. Tickets are available at the club for $35 if purchased by Tuesday.Otherwise, tickets will be $50. Participants will be entered in a drawing for one of the designs. Also, patron tickets are available for $100. Patrons will attend a party the night before the event and will have reserved seats in the audience. For more information, call the club at 251-5059 or Kathy Echevarria at 240-5272. Various adult softball leagues to take shape The Tampa Parks and Recreation Department will hold a series of organizational meetings for the spring adult softball leagues. The Men's League will meet Thursday,, the Sunday Night League will meet Jan. 6, and the Women's & Co-ed leagues will meet Jan. 7. The meetings start at 7 p.m. at Wayne Papy Athletic Center, 6925 N Florida Ave. The Church League will meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Seminole Garden Center, 5810 Central Ave. The fee is $230 per team plus a $10 Amateur Softball Association of America membership fee.
