Suspect named in Dover slaying

TAMPA - Authorities are seeking Victor Carlos Martinez, 18, in connection with the shooting death of Pascual Garcia-Lopez. Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies believe Martinez is the man who shot Garcia-Lopez, 27, around 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Starlite Mobile Home Park in Dover. A warrant has been issued charging Martinez with aggravated assault and first-degree murder. Investigators say Garcia-Lopez had been sitting on the porch of his mobile home when three men approached. After a brief conversation, one man pulled a gun and fired. Garcia-Lopez stumbled inside the mobile home, where he died. Martinez is described as a white Hispanic male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 200 pounds. His last known address was 619 E Trapnell Road, Plant City. He might be in a red 2000 Dodge Caravan, with the North Carolina tag TWC3377. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
