Florida Native Plant Society: 7 p.m. Jan. 7, Hernando County Cooperative Extension Service, 19490 Oliver St. The speaker will be Karina Veaudry, executive director of the Florida Native Plant Society. She will discuss the statewide agenda for conservation, preservation and restoration of Florida's native plant communities. There will be a slide show about landscaping with native plants. Hernando Beach Club: Weekly events include a TV sports event, card playing, pool and bar bingo at noon Sundays. Dinner, 6:30 p.m. Fridays.
