Navy Airman Alyssa Gifford completed basic training Nov. 16 at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.

She is currently attending Navy Air Crew candidate school in Pensacola.

Gifford is the daughter of Debra Gifford of Clearwater and Mark Gifford of Wareham, Mass., and is a 2007 graduate of Countryside High School.
