FSU scouting report
By BRIAN LANDMAN, Times Staff Writer

Music City Bowl Florida State (7-5) vs. Kentucky (7-5), LP Field, Nashville, 4 p.m., ESPN. The Wildcats have lost four of their past five, but two were shootout losses to Florida and Tennessee and another was against Georgia. Led by senior QB Andre Woodson, the Wildcats average nearly 37 points, 15th nationally. They'll face a depleted FSU team, including eight key defensive players among the 36 who didn't make the trip for various reasons, not the least of which is an embarrassing academic misconduct scandal. So what would an FSU win mean? "Oh gosh, it would just mean so much to us because you can imagine how low we've felt the last two weeks," coach Bobby Bowden said. "I guess it's the last two or three weeks when we really realized the enormity of this darn thing. We started off with one guy, two guys and maybe three, then it goes to four, and the first thing you know they go back two or three more semesters and now we've got a pileup. It's been very disappointing to me, very disappointing to us. I can't tell you how much it would build our, I don't know if it would be happiness or what? But we could really use it."
