St. Petersburg Times: Audio Report

[Audio: U.S. Attorney's Office]

Scott Schweickert thought he was chatting with a young gay man who wanted to learn about torture and bondage. Instead, he was talking to undercover Drug Enforcement Administration agent Scott Albrecht. This brief telephone call between the two was played for jurors during Schweickert's trial. The 41-year-old Peru, Ill., native is accused of drugging Michael Wachholtz and Jason Galehouse, both 26, who were later tortured and killed. Schweickert's alleged accomplice, Steven Lorenzo, was found guilty in a trial in 2005 and sentenced to 200 years in prison.
TRANSCRIPT:

SS: not having the means to make the plan happen.

SA: Yes sir- wonder if I had I once had a guy that lived a friend of mine that lived in Charlotte area, and he had at one time. I wonder if he would send me a little bit, like in some kind of uh, secret bottle or something in the mail. He's done that before.

But I should be able too

SS: Before nine eleven or after nine eleven?

SA: Uh.. it was after. This was only a couple months ago. It was just a very, you know- small, small amount in a bottle and it was inside of another package, it was like something that even if someone caught it at the airpo at the post office I don't think they could deal with it, but you never know.

SS: The question is though, is that going to be enough to take him down?

SA: I know . That's what I, that's why I..

SS: Unintelligible that's enough to take him down?

SA: So you think, in a boy his size, it would be a couple caps?

SS: Well, if he's five - ten, and voice overlap

SA: Well he's

SS: and a hundred and eighty to two hundred pounds

SA: Right

SS: He not, by any stretch of the imagination, a small boy.

SA: Right

SS: I mean, how big are you?

SA: Just five-ten, a hundred and sixty pounds five nine, I, five ten's maybe even pushing it.

SS: Alright so you five nine, a hundred and fifty pounds, that means he's got like thirty pounds on you.

SA: Yes sir..

SS: You know, and I mean, a cap full won't even, put you down so we would have to figure at least two capfuls

SA: Yes sir

SS: And then we'd have see how he's doing after that if that wasn't enough, uh we may have to slip another capful into another drink.

SA: Mmmm unintelligible OK OK Is there somebody ? unintelligible Orlando ? Unintelligible
