Area crime watch captains urgedto attend meeting

DOWNTOWN

Proposed stadium, the Trop are meeting topics

The Downtown Neighborhood Association will have its January general meeting next week. Guest speaker, Michael Kalt, senior vice president of development and business affairs for the Tampa Bay Rays, will present the Rays' plan for a proposed waterfront stadium and redevelopment of the Tropicana site. There will be a question and answer period.

AZALEA

Deputy will talk about dealing with predators

The Azalea Neighborhood Association will host sheriff's Deputy Amy Zawadski at its upcoming meeting. Zawadski will discuss sexual predators and provide information on how to deal safely and effectively with this type of offender. Other agenda items include an update on neighborhood concerns and plans for 2008. Residents should note that the group is meeting at a new site.

Candidates, traffic calming on agenda
