What is the estimated total amount of U.S. foreign aid given out, and who are the top 10 recipients?

The latest reliable U.S. government figures are from 2004. Total: $33.4-billion. Tops was Iraq, $8.26-billion. Numbers include economic and military aid, but not the costs of fighting a war. Israel got $2.7-billion, Afghanistan $2.03-billion, Egypt $1.96-billion, Russia $1.14-billion, Colombia $748-million, Jordan $609-million, Sudan $479-million, Ethiopia $436-million and Peru $275-million.
