For 70 years, friends and families have gathered to honor St. Petersburg debutantes. The 2007 Presentation Ball, held in the Coliseum, featured 13 young women wearing white formal gowns and carrying arm bouquets of red roses.

As in the past several years, former St. Petersburg mayor and longtime community leader Bob Ulrich was master of ceremonies.

Debutantes, their families, escorts and schools are as follows:

Jessica Amick, daughter of John Parker Amick, escorted by Sean Michael Kelly; attends the University of North Florida; graduated from St. Petersburg Catholic High School.

Kelly Bramlet, daughter of Dr. Dale and Kathy Bramlet, escorted by Ivan Antonio Delgado; attends Florida State University; graduated from St. Petersburg Catholic High School.

Virginia Bussey, daughter of John and Sallie Bussey, escorted by Jonathan James Ballerano; attends the University of Florida; graduated from St. Petersburg High School.

Susannah Feaster, daughter of Dr.Lynn and Caroline Feaster, escorted by James Robinson Lyle III; attends Florida Gulf Coast University; graduated from Northside Christian High School.

The debs were honored at a flurry of parties during the weeks surrounding the Christmas holidays.

To prepare for the festivities ahead, they indulged in a spa day on Dec. 17 at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort in St. Petersburg. Each could choose a manicure, pedicure, facial or massage.

Hostesses for that treat and the accompanying luncheon were Marian Yon Ellis, Ashley Gairing, Valery Hendry, Rhonda Sanderford, Connie Smith and Judy Stanton.

Shirley Dowling, Marilyn Mathis and Jane Weems gave a Dec. 18 luncheon for the debs at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club.

Two days after that, at Whim-So-Doodle's new location on Second Avenue S downtown, the group assembled memory books for their debutante year. Hostesses for that event were Frances Pruitt, Jane Stovall, Marty Wallace,Susan Wallace and Miriam Williams.

Debs and their dates participated in a casino-themed murder-mystery event at the home of Blanton and Lela Garnett on Dec. 21.

Additional hosts were Breck and Terri Amick, William and LisaBrooks, Michael and Gail Cannova, Phil and VictoriaDickhaus, Jim and Kristie Helinger, Jeff and Lane Ritch, and Nancy Rutland.

Debs wore their pajamas to a breakfast on Dec. 22 at the home of Sue Rowe; her co-hostess for the event was Sandy Sexton.

Hosts for a Dec. 26 luncheon at the yacht club were Kathy and Jose DeVicente, Betty Jean and Tom Miller, Janet Raymond, Dahlgren and Frank Scarritt, Terri and Vincent Shook, Barbara and Bob Ulrich, Shawn and Dick Ulrich and Betty and Bob Willis. That event honored debs, their fathers and grandfathers.

It was a Victorian-themed gathering for the annual Kringle Mingle holiday event of the Florida Orchestra Guild of St. Petersburg. Violinist Mozelle Bell performed holiday music for the event, which was held in the home of Vicki Fox, the 2007 recipient of the Golden Baton Award. That recognition was for her extensive service on the orchestra's board of directors and her continued support for the organization.

The chairwoman of the event was Judy Cunniff, assisted by Claire Mazzella, Evelyn Wilty,Doris Heitler and Bell. Terry Cunniff was a special guest, performing Santa duties.
