Meeting focuses on adult softball leagues

Adult softball with the Pasco County Parks and Recreation Department will start soon, and there will be an organizational meeting at 1 p.m. Monday.

The meeting will be for all leagues - men's, church, co-ed and women's.

Cost to participate is $300 per team. There also will be a $25 National Softball Association fee due from all teams for the 2008 calendar year.

Face off: The Tampa Terrors team of professional mixed martial arts fighters will face off against the Port St. Lucie Devils at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lakeland Center.

The Lakeland Blaze also will be fighting the Cincinnati Norsemen.

The quarterfinal fight card is the first in Bonecrunch Fighting's quest to find the nation's toughest team.

The Tampa team, coached by Rob Kahn, includes Gilberto Burgos, John Turner, Joe "Bamboo" Wissman, Michael Shoffner and Alonzo Roane. Turner and Roane will be making their professional debuts.
