Stenfors out with ACL tear
Boca Ciega's Hannah Stenfors will miss the rest of the girls basketball season with a torn ACL in her right knee, coach Will White said.
Stenfors was injured against PHU on Dec. 12. White said doctors were going to allow her to play with a brace after the MRI revealed the tear.
"I advised against that," White said. "I thought the best thing would be to start her rehabilitation and get ready for college."
Stenfors, a senior, has offers from several area community colleges, White said. This is the second straight season in which Stenfors has missed time with an injury. Last season, she had an MCL tear in her left knee and was out nearly two months.
