City wants volunteers for advisory panels
There will be an information session today.

TAMPA - City officials are seeking volunteers to serve on advisory committees for five community redevelopment areas: Central Park, the Channel District, downtown, Drew Park and The Heights. Tampa's community redevelopment areas are special taxing districts where increases in property tax revenues are directed toward neighborhood improvements. The advisory committees will help make recommendations about how to spend that money. The application deadline is Jan. 17, and City Council members will make committee appointments Jan. 31. An information session is slated for 5:30 p.m. today at City Hall, 315 E Kennedy Blvd. Applications are available at www.tampagov.net/cra or by calling (813) 274-8397.
