GIRLS BASKETBALL
Chamberlain 57, Robinson 18
Arrena Houston scored 29 points as the Chiefs opened up a 33-11 halftime lead and cruised from there. Sierra Crawley added 13 points.
Chamberlain is 6-10. Robinson fell to 1-15.
Bloomingdale 59, Wharton 32
The Bulls improved to 15-3 behind Paris Moore's 20-point effort. Ashley Favors and Adriana James added 10 points each for Bloomingdale, which led 28-10 through one quarter after a torrid start.
Wharton (1-16) got 17 points from Shaurice Wiggins.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Alonso 39, Countryside 34
At Alonso, the Ravens improved to 5-11 overall, 3-4 in Class 6A, District 7. Senior guard Eddie Taylor led Alonso with 16 points.
The Ravens led by eight entering the final quarter before Countryside closed the game to three. Alonso iced the Cougars' run by converting at the line down the stretch.
Junior center Demonte McAllister added 10 points for Alonso.
"We came up big defensively," Ravens coach Todd Price said.
