CLEARWATER

Police officers investigating Thomas McGee for drug activity last month found sexually explicit photos of a girl in his house, officials said Wednesday. On Tuesday, Clearwater officers charged McGee, 24, with possession of child pornography because the girl turned out to be 16. The officers found two photos at McGee's home in the 1800 block of Easter Drive on Dec. 9, Clearwater police said. He was being held at the jail Wednesday night in lieu of $60,150 bail.

'Cigarette Robber' charged again

A 43-year-old man already in jail and accused of robbing a gas station and three pharmacies last month was accused Tuesday of robbing and trying to rob two discount stores. Police called Robert Eugene Bowyer Jr. the "Cigarette Robber" because they say he demanded Marlboro Red 100s along with cash in a series of robberies Dec. 12 to Dec. 28. On Tuesday, he was charged with attempted robbery and accused of demanding money from a clerk at a Dollar Tree Store on McMullen-Booth Road on Dec. 18. He also was charged with robbery and accused of demanding money the same day from a Dollar General Store on Belcher Road. Bowyer was being held at the Pinellas County Jail on Wednesday in lieu of $350,000 bail.

PALM HARBOR

Charge added in molestation case

The Pinellas County Sheriff's office says a 21-year-old man arrested last week in a case involving the molestation of a 6-year-old boy in Palm Harbor says he molested a 9-year-old boy in St. Petersburg two years ago. Sheriff's Office detectives say George de Jesus Rivera faces an additional count of capital sexual battery to a child under 12. Detectives said Rivera said he molested the other boy between June 2005 and January 2006. Rivera was being held at the Pinellas County Jail without bail Wednesday.
