SPCA needs toys, towels for puppies
The West Pasco SPCA needs supplies to help care for a bunch of puppies. The puppies need chew toys, blankets and towels. The shelter is at 7734 Congress St., New Port Richey. It is open from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. It is closed Monday and Tuesday. For more information, call (727) 849-1048.

Realtors plan rally for amendment
The West Pasco Board of Realtors is holding a rally to "Vote Yes on Amendment One" at 10 a.m. Friday at 5409 Sunset Road in New Port Richey. The proposed amendment is a plan to cut property taxes by, among other things, increasing the homestead exemption. The measure would also allow residents to take their "Save Our Homes" tax savings from their current home to a new one. Officials will answer questions about the amendment. Laugh and learn at Clown Krewe clinic
Clown Krewe, a clown group, is hosting a Laugh Clinic at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Renaissance Academy, 8431 Corporate Way, New Port Richey. A $5 donation is requested. Bunnie McCormick, certified laughter leader, will conduct this class, which includes a discussion about the health and social benefits of laughter and a hearty laughter practice session. Knights of Columbus to host blood drive
The Florida Blood Bank will hold a blood drive from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Father Ullrich Knights of Columbus, 5850 Knights of Columbus Drive in Port Richey. Breakfast will be served to all donors.
