Elementary schools

Bryant Elementary: (813) 356-1645

Prefer not to participate in PTA fundraisers? Join the Family Partnership Program, buy a brick and your family still can be recognized in the school newsletter and Web site. Donations are $100 to $300.

Suessical Jr., a Broadway production presented by the school and Music Theatre International, is at 7 p.m. Feb. 1 and 2 at Sickles High School, 7950 Gunn Highway. The cost is $10.

The Health and Safety Fair and Cougie Olympics will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon Jan. 26. Activities include a baton relay race, obstacle course and more. There will be a helmet fit check and car and booster seat installation demonstrations.

Arlene Williams, academic intervention specialist, and Jessica Ladoniczki, reading coach, will talk about tips to make reading more fun at the Make Reading Great in 2008 event at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the cafeteria.

Middle schools

Bring in gently used books and get book bucks for the Book Exchange and Reading Makes You Smarter Than ... Workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The event features book talks, skits and a robot demonstration.

The Terrace Community Public Charter School is taking applications for the 2008-09 academic year. Applications received by Monday will be eligible for the Jan. 22 lottery. Apply at www.tcmstornadoes.com or complete an application at the school, 11734 Jefferson Road, Thonotosassa.

High schools
