Gators can't convert in SEC opener vs. Wildcats

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Junior Marshae Dotson tied her career high of 26 points and had a game-high 12 rebounds in Florida's 60-58 loss to Kentucky on Thursday in the SEC opener for both teams.
The Gators (11-5) had two offensive possessions with less than seven seconds remaining, but both opportunities went awry and the Wildcats snapped Florida's seven-game win streak.
The usually accurate Gators hit just 13-of-20 from the free-throw line for 65 percent during the game while committing 24 turnovers.

No. 2 Tenn. 85, No. 22 Auburn 52: Nicky Anosike scored a career-high 20 for the host Volunteers. Anosike and Candace Parker dominated the paint and the boards, both achieving double doubles as Parker scored 18 and had 11 rebounds and Anosike added 12 rebounds.
No. 3 UNC 79, Va. Tech 59: Erlana Larkins scored 22 and Rashanda McCants had 20 for the visiting Tar Heels. The Hokies made only eight field goals and shot 26 percent in the second half.
No. 4 Maryland 88, BC 61: Crystal Langhorne had 18 points and 18 rebounds to break Len Elmore's school rebounding record in the visiting Terrapins' ninth consecutive victory. Langhorne needed seven rebounds to break the school mark of 1,053 and got the career record-breaker with 9:13 left in the first half to finish the game with 1,065.
No. 10 Georgia 75, Miss. 62: Megan Darrah led five Bulldogs in double figures with 19 points in a home win. Georgia led 38-27 at halftime, but Shantell Black scored nine straight for Ole Miss to trim the margin to 40-36 with 17:01 to play.
No. 11 LSU 76, No. 20 Arkansas 54: Sylvia Fowles scored 18 and the visiting Tigers had a double-digit lead less than five minutes in, ending the Razorbacks' season-opening 15-game winning streak.
No. 19 Ohio St. 71, Indiana 59: Jantel Lavender scored 23 and grabbed 14 rebounds for the host Buckeyes. Tied at 41, Tamarah Riley was fouled on a layup with 11:44 remaining and made the free throw to give Ohio State a lead it never relinquished.

Miami 66, Clemson 61: Maurita Reid scored 23, including four 3-pointers, for the visiting Hurricanes. Miami was down five with 7:21 left when Reid sparked a 6-0 run with two layups and a steal. The Tigers were led by former Wesley Chapel standout Sthefany Thomas with 16 points.
