Carnival Cruise Lines wants to be your best friend

The late, great Freddie Mercury and his band Queen already dominate the nation's sports stadiums (We Will Rock You) and now they're taking on the high seas.
Carnival has adopted the Queen classic You're My Best Friend as part of its new multimillion-dollar advertising campaign. TV commercials began airing last week.
When Mercury sang "Oooh, you make me live" way back in 1975, he probably never dreamed he might someday inspire a honeymooning couple to go on a seven-night western Caribbean cruise.

Passport update
Starting Jan. 31, U.S. and Canadian citizens ages 19 or older will have to present a government-issued photo ID (such as a driver's license) along with proof of citizenship (such as a birth certificate or naturalization certificate) in order to enter or depart the United States by land or sea.
People ages 18 and younger need proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate.
The requirements also apply to Americans driving or sailing to and from Mexico, and to those traveling by sea to and from Bermuda and the Caribbean.
According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the new rules end the practice of "accepting oral declarations of citizenship alone." Find details at www.dhs.gov/xtrvlsec.

'Toy Story' takes to the sea
Woody and Buzz Lightyear will be onstage later this spring in Toy Story - The Musical aboard Disney Cruise Line's Disney Wonder.
The show will be one of the largest productions ever developed for a cruise ship. This is just the second time a Pixar animated feature has been adapted for the stage by Disney Creative Entertainment. In early 2007, Finding Nemo - The Musical debuted at Disney's Animal Kingdom and has been a tremendous success.

No more stampede
If you haven't had a rousing night of fun at Dolly Parton's Dixieland Stampede in Orlando, you missed your chance.
The theater closed abruptly last weekend, according to the Orlando Sentinel. The 13-acre site just off Interstate 4 has been sold to an undisclosed buyer.
Owners of the Stampede, including singer Dolly Parton, say they are looking for another location to reopen the dinner theater.
