ST. PETERSBURG-CLEARWATER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT should release 2007 passenger statistics todayshowing that traffic doubled from the year earlier to about 750,000. The airport benefited from a full year of service from fast-growing discounter Allegiant Air. Later in the week, Tampa International will likely report a modest passenger increase for the year over 2006 but a downturn for November and December.

The new stuff is the first half of the rewritten show now starring a recorded Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and a 3-D holographic projection of actor Christopher Walken mingling with the audience. Walken plays the wacky director of a disaster film called Mutha Nature. But the ride's explosion-ridden subway scene returns, spiffed up after 17 years of wear and tear.

PLENTY OF FOOD AND MARCO RUBIO, TOO: The St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce holds its annual dinner at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday. The chamber uses the event to bring together members and launch new initiatives. Rubio, above, Republican speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, will deliver an after-dinner speech. Gov.
