Culinary Academy Awards honor excellence

Ammini Ramachandran of Dallas was honored Saturday for her cookbook Grains, Greens and Grated Coconuts at the annual Culinary Academy Awards held at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort in St. Petersburg. Some 200 people attended the dinner gala, which was a fundraiser for the Abilities Foundation. The awards are sponsored by Cordon d'Or, an organization founded by Noreen Kinney of St. Petersburg to recognize achievement in the culinary field.
