Art reception at City Hall Art Gallery: 5 to 7 p.m., 201 Howell Ave., Brooksville. Visitors can meet artists and poets participating in the winter exhibit, which runs through Feb. 12. Refreshments will be served, courtesy of the Hernando County Fine Arts Council. The exhibit features displays by the Hernando Quilters, Suncoast Ship Model Society, Spring Hill Camera Club and a new selection of poetry by Just Poets members; paintings by artists Tony Caparello, Glenna Cofran, Shirley Jacobson, Barbara Kerr, Alberto Juliano, Jessica Miller, David C. Roland and LeAnn Steen. On loan is a painting by Mexican-American muralist Oscar Romaro, courtesy of Telma Ott. Wood artisan Ray Pope has a display of his furniture creations. 544-5407.

Weekly pierogi and bake sales resume at St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church: Noon to 3 p.m., 8064 Weeping Willow St., Spring Hill off Cortez Boulevard, at Arby's and AutoZone. Pasco-Hernando Community College's 23rd annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Lecture to feature Ephren W. Taylor: Two presentations will be offered, one at 10 a.m. at the Performing Arts Center at PHCC West Campus, 10230 Ridge Road, New Port Richey; and the other at 7 p.m. in Building E, Room 130, at the PHCC East Campus, 36727 Blanton Road, Dade City. Taylor will discuss "Living Up to Your Dream: The Soul of Success." Taylor is the CEO of City Capital Corp., has participated in the Wall Street Economic Summit and created an Entrepreneurial Academy at Chaney University in Pennsylvania. At the age of 12, he started his own business, and at 17, he became a millionaire. He hosts the "Soul of Success" radio show on XM Satellite Radio on Family Talk 170 XM.
