Free-throw contest takes place Saturday

SPRING HILL
The Knights of Columbus will host their annual free-throw contest for youth at 9 a.m. Saturday at Notre Dame Catholic School, 1117 Suzanne Drive, off Commercial Way.
The competition is open to boys and girls ages 9 to 14. Each shooter must provide proof of age.
Trophies will be awarded to winners, who will then be eligible to compete at the district competition in February. Winners of the district competition will compete in state finals.

Program can help you protect your identity
The Hernando County Public Library System will host an Identity Theft Protection Program at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Spring Hill Branch/Harold G. Zopp Memorial Library, 9220 Spring Hill Drive.
Connie Salyars from the Hernando County Sheriff's Office will provide tips to help people avoid becoming victims of identity theft.

Planting some bulbs? Here's a good start
Hernando County Cooperative Extension Service will offer a free class, "A Bounty of Blooming Bulbs," at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Forest Oaks Government Center, 7479 Forest Oaks Blvd.
Participants will learn which flower bulbs thrive in Hernando County's climate. There is no cost to attend. Seating will be limited. Call 754-4433.
