David Belniak, 34, faces charges including DUI manslaughter.

LAND O'LAKES - On Christmas, a family in an SUV waited at a red light on U.S. 19 at Little Road.
They were a few miles from their destination; the car packed with gifts and the holiday ham. Then David Belniak, a 34-year-old with a long record, slammed into the back of their Chevrolet Tahoe.
Three family members were killed - Linda McWilliams, 66, of Hudson, and her daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Gerard Bassi of Connecticut. Raymond McWilliams, Linda's husband who was driving, survived.
Belniak of Spring Hill was treated and released that day. He was arrested Saturday morning on three counts of DUI manslaughter, three counts of vehicular homicide, one count of DUI causing serious bodily injury and one count of reckless driving causing serious bodily injury.
Belniak has a record of traffic infractions and arrests, records show. He has faced DUI charges twice, and one of those times New Port Richey police found a gallon of the date-rape drug GHB in his Ford Mustang. Belniak served 17 months in prison after pleading no contest to trafficking the drug.
He has numerous speeding tickets on his record, the worst for driving 91 mph in a 45-mph zone in 1995. His most recent ticket was in September.
In 1994, he struck a pedestrian on U.S. 19 near Fivay Road. The woman died, but Belniak wasn't charged.
Belniak is being held in the Land O'Lakes jail with bail set at $330,000.

Get high, speed, drive reckless and irradically, kill 3 people, price is only $330,000. And of course you only need 10% to put up. Something stinks. I wonder where.

Yep...he is out. A big shame. He is having a life and out driving and the poor family has to deal with their losses. I just hope he doesn't kill anyone else before his sentencing. We have to stay off the streets since he is out. Be careful everyone!!

Sorta looks like an arrogant ass hole. I say he pays to the family's survivors for the rest of his life and he should never be driving again. If he does and serves no time then F the corrupted legal system.

We can only pray that the law did everything properly and that his family's money doesn't 'buy' his way out. They'll post his bond and he'll be back on the streets. Angry, depressed and using drugs and alcohol. Stay out of his way now !!!!

This type of person has no regards or value for the lives of others, let him do a life sentance with no parole. He doesn't deserve to live among those of us who do respect life and other people.

Very happy to hear that he was finally charged. Keep in jailed, never let him free. He has ruined many lives. My sincere thoughts to the Bassi/McWilliams families. I was at that scene and it was Horrific.

It's about time they arrested this jerk. His family probably bailed him out immediately. Hope he rots in jail. He had three weeks of partying while those three people were in the ground. Money buys everything but I hope not this time!
