Pasco County Property Appraiser Mike Wells will speak to groups about property values, homestead exemption, Save Our Homes and proposed legislation that will affect property owners. A question and answer period will follow. Dates and locations include:

-Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Heritage Pines Republican Club,. Heritage Pines Clubhouse, County Line Road in Hudson.

-Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at Oaks Royal 3, 36312 Impala Way in Zephyrhills.

-Jan. 30 at 1 p.m. at the West Pasco Board of Realtors, 5409 Sunset Road in New Port Richey.

Ginger Fitness to host party and open house

N.Y. county group sets date for 'Get-Together'

The 56th Annual Jefferson County Picnic Association of New York State with Ed Duel as president will hold its annual "Get-Together" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Lions' Club on Dean Dairy Road in Zephyrhills. Guests are asked to bring their own table service, beverage and a dish to pass. There will be a business meeting following lunch. The day's activities will include a raffle, door prizes, roll-call of townships, and lots of intermingling among friends and acquaintances from Jefferson County. All Jefferson County residents, former residents, and guests are welcome.

Dr. Bala to receive Lincoln award

Dr. Sam Bala of Dade City will be honored Feb. 22 by the East Pasco Political Club. He will receive the Lincoln Heritage Award for his outstanding commitment to the principles practiced and espoused by Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican president, and for his humanitarian service to his community, Pasco County and to his country. The award, instituted in 2003, was to recognize longtime registered Republicans from east Pasco County. The award dinner, chaired by Lowell Harris, will be held at the new Zephyr Palms Event Centre, 4645 Airport Road in Zephyrhills. Sheriff Bob White will be the master of ceremonies. Retired educators meet Tuesday at IHOP

4-H Foundation to host Kumquat Festival feast

The Pasco County 4-H Foundation will hold its' annual Kumquat Festival Chicken Dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Dade City Armory. The cost is $6 and the menu is chicken, coleslaw, baked beans, bread and tea. There will also be kumquat pie for sale for dessert. Takeout is available. Advance tickets are recommended, as there will be a limited number of tickets available at the door. Wine fest and market set for Saturday

Florida Estates Winery, 25241 State Road 52, 4 miles west of I-75 near Land O'Lakes, will host a Wine Festival and Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The African American Club of West Pasco and Union Missionary Baptist Church will co-host the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. program from noon to 1 p.m. Monday.
