Graduating seniors Coleby Friedland from Land O'Lakes High School and Harry Helmrich from J.W. Mitchell High were named Pasco County's District Sunshine State Scholars in Mathematics and Science for 2008.
Ninety-five seniors from high schools throughout the state were designated Sunshine State Scholars by their school districts, based on their broad knowledge of mathematics, statistics, physics, chemistry and biology.
The program was established in 1997 to recognize Florida's graduating seniors who have demonstrated excellence in both mathematics and science.
