Golf course to be sold; no word on buyer
By Times Staff Writer

PORT RICHEY Timber Oaks golf course, which has been closed for months, is under contract to be sold. Prudential Tropical Realty's Renee Dyer, who is handling the deal, declined to name the potential buyer or say what is planned for the golf course in the flood-prone neighborhood between State Road 52 and Jasmine Boulevard, west of Little Road. But she said it is not the controversial 250-townhome project proposed at the site about three years ago. That proposal did not get very far, drawing heavy criticism from Timber Oaks residents in part because a report showed the project could flood hundreds of Timber Oaks homes. "If it ends up happening," Dyer said of the new plan, "it's going to be very positive for the neighbors." Golf course owner Suzanne Pace did not return a phone message Tuesday seeking comment. Correction A photograph of concert pianist Justin Kolb performing before a freshman class of students was taken at Hudson High School. A caption for a photograph in Wednesday's Pasco Times gave an incorrect school and class level.

If this deal goes through? someone can expect a class action suite. The home owners here are already dealing with economic pressure and defation of home values. To sell the golf course and build townhomes will only make our home worth even less.
