Class 3A FORT MYERS - Berkeley Prep assistant coach Jen Martin believes regular-season records don't matter once the postseason begins. The Buccaneers (10-10-3), who entered Thursday's quarterfinal with a sub-.500 mark, certainly proved Martin's theory. Berkeley Prep scored the first three goals in a nine-minute span of the first half, then held off Bishop Verot for a 3-2 victory. "That's our best game all year by far," said Martin, who filled in for Ken Roberts, who was suspended after receiving a red card in last week's district semifinals. "The girls did a great job." Sophomore forward Taylor Batye scored a pair of goals just over a minute apart to give the Bucs a 2-0 lead. Eight minutes later, freshman Taylor Richardson scored on an assist from Batye. Bishop Verot (18-2-3) scored two goals late in the first half but couldn't net an equalizer in the second half.
