Fantasy fishing being offered for FLW tours

FLW Outdoors now has fantasy fishing. Participants select 10 anglers in each of the seven FLW tours throughout the spring and summer, and those with anglers who do the best in each tournament earn points. At the end of the season, the player with the most cumulative points wins $1-million. Not only that, but the winner of each of the six tournaments wins $100,000, and the participant with the most points in the season-ending Forrest Wood Cup wins $100,000. The FLW season begins Feb. 28 on Lake Toho in Kissimmee. The Forrest Wood Cup is August 14-17 in Columbia, S.C. Registration is free and available at fantasyfishing.com.

Closed seasonon grouper nearing

Just a reminder that the closed season for gag, red and black grouper in federal waters is quickly approaching. There will be a zero catch limit strictly enforced for the grouper from Feb. 15 through March 14 in federal Gulf of Mexico waters, which is 9 nautical miles offshore. Recreational grouper fishing in state waters remains open. Commercial fishermen may not keep any grouper in state waters.
