Clearwater Masonic Lodge 127 Free and Accepted Masons installed its 2008 officers Jan. 5. The installing officer was Most Worshipful Past Grand Master of Florida Elmer Coffman, assisted by Right Worshipful Ed Phero and Worshipful Steiner Humrick of Clearwater Lodge.

The 2008 elected officers were Worshipful Jon P. Vonderau as worshipful master; Joseph Gondos as senior warden; Glen B. Bishop as junior warden; David W. Griffin as treasurer; and Russell P. LeMar as secretary.

The appointed officers installed were Worshipful Bryant Davis as chaplain; Worshipful Steiner Humrick as marshal; Paul L. Smith as senior deacon; Mike Lever as junior deacon; Worshipful Arthur Barker as senior stewart; John A. Liallios as junior stewart; Worshipful Mark LeMacher as musician; David V. Soderland as tyler; Right Worshipful Sam Lampson as officer at large; and Right Worshipful Ed Phero as ritualist.

The Palm Harbor Newcomers Alumnae and Friends Club will hold its monthly meeting at 11 a.m. Feb. 7 at East Lake Woodlands Country Club, 1005 East Lake Parkway, Oldsmar. Following lunch, speaker Michael Polin of Art Stone Orchids will give an informative talk on growing and caring for orchids.

All are welcome to attend. Cost is $16 and valet parking is available.

Prospective members and visitors are welcome to attend the Tarpon Springs Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution meeting at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Tarpon Springs Public Library, 138 E Lemon St.

This month's program is "DAR National Silver Collection," presented by docent Dianne Atkins. Members' samples will be on display.

The public is invited to bring its appetite to the seventh annual pancake supper sponsored by the Tarpon Springs Rotary Club from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club, 111 W Lime St.

Tickets are $5 per person and include all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, orange juice and coffee.

All proceeds will benefit the Tarpon Springs Boys and Girls Club.

All Kiwanians are invited to attend the official visit of Kiwanis Florida District Governor Mark and First Lady Sharon Taylor on Feb. 7 at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, 2405 Phillippe Parkway, Safety Harbor, to learn all the exciting plans for the future of the Florida Kiwanis District.

Social hour begins at 6 p.m. with the dinner and meeting at 6:30. Cost is $12 per person.

Beginning in February, VFW Post 2550, 360 Douglas Ave., will host an afternoon tea dance on the first and fourth Sundays of each month featuring the music of the Suncoast String Band playing tunes from the 1920s to 1990s.

Doors open at 1 p.m. with dancing from 2 to 4 p.m. Cost is $5 per person. Snacks provided, but bring your own liquid refreshments.
