All this boot talk? Blame the Hyper Bowl
Today's electronic conversation between Times sports columnists Gary Shelton and John Romano.

JR: Gary, I see you're wearing a boot. Are you on your way to Giselle's?
GS: I had a dream like that. Turns out, so did Giselle. Poor woman. Doctors say she may never sleep again.
JR: It's all fun and games when you show up at a supermodel's house with a sore foot. But when Tom Brady does it, apparently it's international news. Couldn't he have just gone to Britney Spears while in an iron lung? Wouldn't that have simplified things for the paparazzi?
GS: He could have gone to a different house each day. He could have worn a neck brace to Lindsay Lohan's, a full-body cast to Paris Hilton's and shown up in a hearse at Madonna's.
JR: Jose Canseco's career once left Madonna's in a hearse, but that's a different story. So do you think there is any reason to get worked up over Tom's tootsies? Does this phantom injury give New York hope?
GS: It happens at the Hyper Bowl. Dan Marino once said he felt light-headed, and the next thing you know, there were reports he needed a head transplant. With Brady, I think the New York media has read too much about Achilles and his heel.
JR: If I knew who Brady's backup was, I would accuse him of tipping off the tabloids.
GS: I think it's some kid named Partridge.
JR: Nothing like the Super Bowl to bring out silliness and B-grade celebs. I'm putting my money on Sanjaya showing up at media day Tuesday.
GS: If Sanjaya's gonna get a B, the teacher is going to have to grade on the curve. My money is on Rudy, the hard-partying Doodlebop.
JR: Could you imagine one of the Doodlebops interviewing Bill Belichick? It'd be like Mr. Rogers interviewing Dick Cheney, with less cursing.
GS: Unlike us, I understand Mr. Rogers and Cheney talked a lot about football.
