Speedway to reschedule Winter Spectacular, Part 2

Citrus County Speedway is working to reschedule the Winter Spectacular VI, Part 2, which was postponed Jan. 19 because of bad weather. It is likely the event will be run during the regular season.
The 2008 season officially starts Feb. 2 and will feature Open Wheel Modifieds, Sportsman, Mini Stocks, Pure Stocks, V8 Thunder Stocks, 4-Cylinder Bombers and Figure 8's.
The T.B.A.R.A. Winged Sprint cars are scheduled to open their season at Citrus County Speedway on Feb. 9.

More delays: The West Coast Bears minor league football team will accept tickets issued for its first home game on Feb. 2 for its next home game. The first game, scheduled for Jan. 19, was postponed due to bad weather.
Football: The Florida Krush Football team, a semipro football squad of the North American Football League, will have minicamp practice at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 2. Extra practice will be held at 5:45 p.m. for morning workers. This practice is to get ready for the March 1 and March 8 tryouts. Flatlander 5K: The 29th Annual Red Mule Runners Flatlanders Challenge will start at 8 a.m. on Feb. 2.
The 5K and 10K will be held at 8 a.m. The 1K kids' run will be held at 10 a.m. The cost is $20 if you register in advance, and $25 on race day. The kids' run is $5. Visit active.com to register.

Umpire clinic: The Hernando Sumter Umpires Association will hold one more clinic for men, women and teenagers over the age of 16 who want to be trained to become a certified baseball or softball umpire.
The last clinic will be Feb. 3 at Ridge Manor Sports Complex. Both clinics will start at 1 p.m.
