Florida soldier killed Sunday in Baghdad

HAMPTON A soldier from Florida was killed by an explosive in Baghdad over the weekend, military officials said Tuesday. Maj. Alan G. Rogers, 40, of Hampton died Sunday after a bomb exploded while he was on patrol, the Defense Department said. Rogers was assigned to the 1st Infantry Division. ELLIOT KEY Body of missing Miami boater found The body of a Miami man who disappeared off Elliot Key was found by a passer-by, the Coast Guard said Tuesday. Dan Stonionis, 45, was discovered at 9:30 a.m. about 3 miles east of another key near Miami. Other boaters had seen his unmanned 25-foot vessel off Elliot Key on Saturday.

Alan was one of the most amazing people to have walked on this planet. He was loved by so many of his friends. I miss him so much.
