CLEARWATER A 42-year-old Largo man has been sentenced to two years in prison for committing lewd acts in a community pool's locker room. Scott Martin Weigand pleaded no contest in Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court on Wednesday to three counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition. In September, Pinellas sheriff's deputies arrested Weigand at the Clearwater YMCA after the staff denied him entrance. None of the incidents happened at the YMCA. Rather, prosecutors say that between May 2006 and August 2007, Weigand exposed himself to the boys at the Golda Meir/Kent Jewish Center in Clearwater. He attached a large artificial penis to his own sexual organ and wrapped a towel around himself. He then pretended to walk to or from the shower. When he saw the victims, he unwrapped the towel and exposed himself, authorities said, and videotaped the encounters. Online suspect arrested in Calif. A Clearwater police investigation of online predators Wednesday resulted in the arrest of a California man, officials said. Charles Wayne Young, 43, was arrested at his home in San Francisco. In June 2006, Young contacted a Clearwater police detective who was posing as a child. Young, who has a previous child molestation conviction in Kentucky, asked to meet the detective for sex and sent images and videos of child and adult pornography, police said. The detective tracked Young to Louisville, but he moved just days before authorities went to arrest him in October 2006. Months later, Young contacted the detective again and was traced to San Francisco. Young faces charges of solicitation of a minor via computer, transmission of child pornography across state lines and transmission of material harmful to a minor across state lines.
