Kids, sign up for youth basketball

LAND O'LAKES The Pasco County Parks and Recreation Department and Land O'Lakes Recreation Complex will present the 2008 non-competitive Instructional Youth Basketball League for boys and girls ages 7 to 15. Teams will be formed by recreation staff and proof of age is required. Registration is from 6 to 8 tonight and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Land O'Lakes Recreation Complex, 3032 Collier Parkway. Players ages 7 to 10 play games Saturdays, and ages 11 to 15 play games Thursdays. The cost is $35 per child. For information, call 813-929-1220. WESLEY CHAPEL Day of Percussion set for Saturday Wesley Chapel High Band will host a Day of Percussion at 3:15 p.m. Saturday at the Center for the Arts, 30651 Wells Road. This showcase is free and open to the public. ZEPHYRHILLS Dance to big band sounds at school Zephyrhills High School band will host a Big Band Dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday in the activity center at the school, 6335 12th St., Zephyrhills. The dance is open to the community and will feature classic big band tunes from the greats such as Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey. Cost is $7 per person, $12 per couple.
