Ninth-graders arrested on gun charge
Three students were arrested Friday afternoon on a charge of bringing a gun to Blake High School. A school resource officer got a tip from a student that two other students had a gun on campus, Tampa police said. The officer searched the two students at 12:35 p.m. but did not find a gun. The officer then put the school on lockdown. At 2:30 p.m., a female student told a teacher she had the weapon - an unloaded .25-caliber semiautomatic handgun - in her locker. The three students, all ninth-graders, were charged with possession of a weapon on school campus. They are not being identified by the Times due to their age.
