Tuesday, there will be a winter bird walk at Chinsegut Nature Center in Brooksville from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The program is free, but registration is required. Talking about commercial mullet The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has scheduled a series of public workshops regarding the state's commercial mullet fishery, including one Feb. 27 in Crystal River. The workshop will discuss ways to allow more fishing opportunities for commercial mullet fishermen, including possibly modifying weekend closures of commercial harvests. They currently run from July to January. It will be held at the Crystal River city hall from 6 to 8 p.m. For more information, go to www.myfwc.com. If you have an outdoors event for the Saturday calendar, e-mail to page@sptimes.com or fax to 1-800-333-7505, Ext. 8782.
