Joyful Spirit Lutheran Church, 8812 Old County Road 54, offers its annual Mardi Gras from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today with food, games and music for all ages. On Sunday, youth will collect canned goods and money for those who are hungry and less fortunate. This event is called Souper Bowl of Caring and everything collected will go to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Tampa Bay. Atonement Lutheran Church, 29617 State Road 54, offers a series of short contemporary dramas: "The Games People Play" during Lenten services beginning on Ash Wednesday. The skits will deal with loneliness, making life's choices and finding the answers to life. Services begin at 7:30 p.m. A soup dinner is offered prior to each service at 6:30 p.m. beginning Feb. 13. The church is offering an open-invitation to married couples to renew their wedding vows during a ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m. Feb. 17. Zephyrhills Alliance Church, 6351 Fort King Road, is sponsoring the Alpha Course beginning Wednesday and running for 11 consecutive Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. This course will provide answers to many questions about the Christian life.
