TAMPA - No. 1 seed St. Petersburg Catholic outscored Clearwater Central Catholic 17-2 in the second quarter to win 54-24 and reach the final.
Sasha Chaplin, who has committed to Indiana, scored a game-high 22 while making 11 of 17 shots. Holly Janicki added 10 and Jessica Coley eight.
"There's not one player that can stop (Chaplin)," SPC coach Nick Vanderwalle said. "It's going to take two or three ... to slow her down. And when you put two or three girls on her, it opens up the other players."
The Marauders (5-12), led by Jenny St. Martin's eight points, trailed by just 10 before the big second quarter.
SPC (25-1) faces Academy of the Holy Names, which beat Tampa Catholic 60-57, tonight in a rematch of last seasons's final, which the Jaguars won 40-39 on a buzzer-beater.
"This year, we seem to have the stars aligned in our favor," Vanderwalle said. "But we're going to have our hands full."
