Karen Allen

Assistant Vice President of Operations, Grow Financial Federal Credit Union

Karen Allen has been promoted at Grow Financial Credit Union in Tampa. Allen has been with Grow Financial for 10 years, serving as teller supervisor, assistant manager of the member contact cent er, assistant market manager at the South Dale Mabry and Gandy Boulevard locations, market manager at Lakewood Ranch and most recently as operations manager. Allen has previously worked for NationsBank, Bank South, Navy Federal Credit Union and First Virginia Bank. Allen is pursuing a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Phoenix.

Debra Hanses

Executive Vice President, CNBS Financial Group

Debra Hanses, who has 20 years of human resources experience in consulting, insurance and banking, joins CNBS Financial Group, the bank holding company for Community National Bank of the South in Tampa. Hanses was president of Human Capital Consulting Group. She's been named to the International Who's Who of Professionals, the International Who's Who of Female Executives and Crain's Detroit Business Top 40 Under 40. Hanses is certified as a senior professional in human resources from the Society of Human Resources Management and earned a degree in personal administration and industrial relations from the University of Michigan.

Colleen Chappell

President and CEO, Roberts Communications

Colleen Chappell has been promoted at Roberts Communications, an advertising and public relations firm in Tampa. Chappell has been vice president since 2002. Previously, she was statewide director of advertising, marketing and business sales at Verizon Wireless. Chappell earned a bachelor's degree in mass communication from the University of South Florida. She is on the executive board of the American Marketing Association, is a past chairwoman of Leadership Tampa Alumni and is on the board of the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce.

Victor Guzman

Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Data Age Business Systems

Victor Guzman a 20-year veteran of the software industry, joins Data Age Business Systems, a Largo provider of financial transaction software. Guzman was co-founder and vice president of sales at Odyssey Hospitality Systems; vice president of marketing and business development at DynegyConnect; vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at Mantiss Information Corp.; and regional vice president of sales at FirstLogic. Guzman earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin and a master's of business administration from Keller Graduate School.

Banking

Georgia Bovinett has been named vice president, loan operations manager, at Old Harbor Bank, Clearwater. Bovinett was assistant vice president, loan administration manager in the Trinity office at Patriot Bank in New Port Richey.

Construction

Cutler Associates, Tampa, announces these appointments:Trevor Otlewski, project manager; and Mark Staffieri, senior project manager. Otlewski was a project engineer; and Staffieri was a senior project manager at W.G. Mills, Sarasota.

Robert Gibson has been promoted to senior project manager at Hennessy Construction Services, St. Petersburg. Gibson is the senior project manager for the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts renovation and addition. Gibson was a project manager.

ENGINEERING

Dana Riiskahas been promoted to vice president at Griner Engineering Inc., St. Petersburg. Riiska was a mechanical project manager.

Financial

Don L. Clark has been named senior vice president and chief operating officer, residential mortgage division, at CNBS Financial Group Inc., the bank holding company for Community National Bank of the South. Clark was vice president of systems integration at Market Street Mortgage Corp., Clearwater.

Health Care

Marisa Glover Jordan has been named case management director at Oak Hill Hospital, Spring Hill. Jordan was team leader in complex discharge coordination at Sisters of Charity Providence Hospital in South Carolina.

Gregg D. Thomas and Carol Jean LoCicero of Thomas & LoCicero PL, Tampa, have been named to the 2008 edition of The Best Lawyers in America for First Amendment lawyers. Thomas and LoCicero's firm practices media law, trademark and copyright registration and infringement, online publishing, advertising, sweepstakes and contests, antitrust, unfair competition and commercial litigation.

Charles F. "Charlie" Ketchey Jr. has been named a shareholder at Trenam Kemker, Tampa. Ketchey practices in the area of commercial litigation and was formally with Akerman Senterfitt, Tampa.

Gilbert M. Singer has been reappointed by Gov. Charlie Crist as a commissioner of the Florida Commission on Human Relations. Singer is a shareholder and practices in the areas of collections and commercial litigation at Kass, Shuler, Solomon, Spector, Foyle & Singer, P.A., Tampa.
