HISTORIC KENWOOD

Neighbors to hear about rays' plan for waterfront stadium

The next meeting of the Historic Kenwood Neighborhood Association will be held at Tropicana Field. Representatives from the Rays will discuss the proposed new open-air stadium on the downtown waterfront. Members should meet at the main entrance on the east side of the complex off the main parking lot no later than 7 p.m. The group will be escorted by a Rays staffer to the meeting location.

Learn about community garden and fundraiser

Lightly used clothinggiven to needy children

The North Kenwood Neighborhood Association will meet Monday. Jennifer Silva from the nonprofit organization Clothes-To-Kids will discuss its work helping to clothe Pinellas County schoolchildren in need. Members are asked to bring their lightly used clothes to the meeting to support the organization. A drawing and refreshments will be provided at the end of the meeting.

County Commission chairman set to speak

MEADOWLAWN

Purge closets, garage for big rummage sale

Members of the Meadowlawn Neighborhood Association will hold their annual rummage sale Feb. 16. Donations of books, toys, clothes, household items and so forth will be collected from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 to 7 p.m. Feb. 15 at Hope Lutheran Church, 1801 62nd Ave. N. Proceeds from the sale will support Meadowlawn's college scholarship fund.

Food, toiletries being collected for soldiers

Employees of PSTA and Brighthouse Networks are collecting donations of non-perishable food and personal care products to send to military personnel serving in combat zones overseas. If you'd like to help send U.S. troops a bus-sized Valentine, stop by the following PSTA Customer Service Center locations between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to drop off items through Sunday:

Bowl in the fresh air three mornings a week

St. Petersburg lawn bowling is in full swing. If you've always wanted to give lawn bowling a try, free lessons are available.
