'High roller' lottery winner claims prize

Spring Hill resident Stephen Murray, 50, claimed the first $1-million top prize in the Florida Lottery's $600 Million High Roller scratch-off game. The game, which launched in late January, has awarded more than 464,000 prizes valued at more than $25-million.
Dinner, dance at VFW post April 12
The Korean War Veterans Post 174 and Ladies Auxiliary will host a "Spring Spectacular" dinner, dance and show April 12 at VFW Post 10209, 14736 Edward R. Noll Drive. The event will include a buffet dinner and feature a show with the Strings N' Strutters, followed by music for dancing provided by the Strings N' Strutters' 10-piece band. Tickets are $20. Swamp Festival starts March 1
The 2008 Weeki Wachee Swamp Festival in the Park will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 1 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 2 at Linda Pedersen Park at Jenkins Creek, 6400 Shoal Line Blvd. The event will include music, arts and crafts, a wide variety of food, prizes and drawings. There will be numerous contests, including the swamp monster contest. Contest details are available online at www.wwswampfest.com. More than 200 gifts can be won. Parking is free.
