Mother-in-law accused in attack on woman

NEW PORT RICHEY A 66-year-oldNew Port Richey woman became upset Friday afternoon with her daughter-in-law, who is eight months pregnant and was smoking inside the house. A report from the Pasco County Sheriff's office does not say whether Eleanor Schwartz was upset because her daughter-in-law was pregnant and smoking - or if it was just that she was puffing in the house, rather than outside. Schwartz is accused of grabbing her daughter-in-law by the neck, causing a 3-inch cut. Schwartz was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery on a pregnant person and is being held in the Land O'Lakes jail with bail set at $1,000. Woman arrested after hitting spouse, deputy As husband and wife were arguing early Saturday about how drunk she was, according to a report from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Angela Rivera, 26, began slapping and clawing at her husband. When deputies arrived at her New Port Richey home, Rivera refused to walk. As the deputies carried Rivera to the patrol car, she decided to head-butt one of them in the groin. Rivera is being held in the Land O'Lakes jail on charges of domestic battery and battery on a law enforcement officer. Bail is set at $1,750.
