Boys 2A-9 hoops: Terrapins take out Warriors a third time

TAMPA - Beating a team three times in one season is considered one of the tougher things to do in sports.
You wouldn't know it after watching Tampa Prep handle Calvary Christian for the third time en route to capturing the Class 2A, District 9 title with a 67-45 blowout win.
The first two games between the schools were decided by 10 points total, but the Terrapins didn't let the Warriors stay close this time.
Senior guard Jake Haslam hit two quick 3-pointers to help Tampa Prep (22-2) take a 13-6 lead after the first quarter.
The Terrapins blew the game open with a 22-5 run in the second quarter thanks to senior David Waller, who scored nine of his game-high 29.
"We were hitting on all cylinders early," Terrapins coach Joe Fenlon said. "Waller was very good. He played with extreme intensity and was a hell of a leader of us tonight. It was his turn, and he really led us to the win."
Haslam finished with 13 points, and sophomore Jamal Cherry added 12.
The Warriors (18-9) struggled to make shots all night, going just 5-of-19 from the field in the first half.
Emmanuel Delgado was the only Warrior to finish in double digits, finishing with 12 points.

They have to give the ball more to Emmanuel Delgado because that kid create a lot of situations in the court and he can make the defense make mistakes and he take advantage of that made in the basket or giving the ball to Christian and Quinonez
