Wrestling: Brandon wins title

Brandon won the team title thanks to seven individual region champs and 282 points, and will send 12 to the state meet as it looks to win its eighth consecutive team state title.
Sean Padgett (103 pounds), Eric Grajales (130), Kevin Timothy (135), Joey Cozart (140), Wally Figaro (145), Zaq Berridge (160), Phil Uno (215) won titles for Brandon. Hillsborough’s Moses McCray (285) also earned a title.
Springstead came in second with 150.5 points, and two of its wrestlers won region titles: Schuyler Swanton at 112 pounds, and C.J. Cook at 125 pounds. River Ridge's Tyler Fleming (119) also won.
In Pinellas, Dunedin’s Danny Miller won the 171-pound title as the Falcons finished fourth overall with 87.5 points.
Also advancing to the state tournament: Armwood's James Gray (103), Christian Perez (119), Leroy Minley (130) and Tim Witte (171); Springstead's Dustin Soto (103), Skylar Huff (119), Thad Klenovich (152), Scott Wern (171) and Cesar Acosta (189); Brandon's Terry Dawson (112), Nick Hutchinson (125), Mike Ettore (152), David Austin (171) and Aaron Fullenwider (285); Wharton's Dominic Cruz (103) and Calvin (140); Dunedin's Jonte Graham (145 and Antonio Talley (160); Jefferson's Skylar McMahon (215); Central's Ken Supple (125) and Danny May (189); Ridgewood's Dean Stupar (112) and Allyn Williamson (135); River Ridge's Anthony Biondo (112); Chamberlain's Troy Chisholm (135); Newsome's Daniel Wood (145); Middleton's Coleman (285) and King's Hernandez (285).
