Wrestling: Jesuit sends 7 to state

Tampa Jesuit crowned three weight-class champions and qualified seven wrestlers overall for state, piling up 126.5 points to finish second to Riverdale (282.5) at the Class 1A, Region 3 meet Saturday at Golden Gate in Naples. Rossi Bruno, an eighth-grader who was a USA National Folkstyle champion in 2007, scored a 16-0 technical fall in his 103-pound title match to improve to 36-0. Ben Reid (152 pounds) and Chris Kavouklis (189) scored 5-1 and 9-3 decisions, respectively to win their classes for Jesuit. The four wrestlers in the finals and consolation finals qualify for state.
