Get tickets today for free March concert

BROOKSVILLE
The U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers Chorus will perform a concert at 3 p.m. March 16 at Grace World Outreach Church, 20366 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville. The concert is free, but admission is by ticket only. Free tickets are available starting today at the St. Petersburg Times front lobby, 15365 Cortez Blvd., west of Brooksville (from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church office, 5030 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill (from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Tickets will be given out until all are distributed. Limit of four tickets per family.

Film today on 2000 presidential election
The Hernando County Green Party will show the movie Unprecedented: The 2000 Presidential Election at 6 p.m. today at the Spring Hill Branch/Harold G. Zopp Memorial Library, 9220 Spring Hill Drive. This is Greg Palast's investigation into the 2000 election, focusing on Florida. The film is part of the local Green Party's Green Screens program. Call Suzanne Touchton at 666-7576.
Tickets on sale now for thrift shop fashion show
Karen's Kit'n Kaboodle (St. Andrew's Thrift Shop) hosts its annual fashion show Saturday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 2301 Deltona Blvd. The theme will be love. Lunch is at noon, followed by fashions from the thrift shop, modeled by volunteers. Clothing will be available after the show. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the thrift shop or church office. No tickets sold at the door. Call 686-1114.

Local Audubon to join backyard bird count
Hernando County Audubon will participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count, which runs Friday through Feb. 18. Participants are to count birds at the feeders in their yards. This is a national effort led by the National Audubon Society and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, which will use the information to discover trends. To participate, call Linda at 754-9436.
