Suspect's son, 9, disputes dad's story
Joseph Anthony Lubischer told authorities he was on his way to the bank and swerved to avoid a pothole when he almost hit two teenagers on bicycles Saturday.
But Lubischer's son and one of the victims say if the boys hadn't moved out of the way, Lubischer would have hit them. Here's what happened, according to a report from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office:
Around noon, Daniel Estock, 13, said he and Cameron Schneider, 15, were riding their bikes to Cameron's house. When they got to Blackbeard Lane and Needles Drive, Daniel said, Lubischer pulled onto Blackbeard Lane. Daniel said Lubischer swerved his truck at him and Cameron, forcing the boys to move.
Lubischer's 9-year-old son, Joshua, told authorities the same story as Daniel. Daniel's father, John Estock, told authorities his family has had problems with Lubischer before.
Lubischer, 45, of 8330 Needles Drive, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault. He was being held at the Land O'Lakes jail Monday in lieu of $10,000 bail.
